Hongkong, 20th February, 1856.
I, Robert Rienacker, Colonial Measurer of Hongkong, being about to proceed to England on sick leave, hereby authorize Ludwig Wise, Esquire of the Firm Siemesen & Co., and in his absence the person representing the said Firm in Hongkong, to receive monthly from the Colonial Government my half salaries due to me during my absence, under the Colonial Regulations, and for which the said Ludwig Wise, or the person representing the said Firm of Siemsen & Co., shall give necessary receipt on my behalf.
